Abstract

The archaeological vestiges that contain the regional landscapes everywhere of the world represent, actually and as long as they are recognized, a part or also the sum of multiple spent of the history and the social and cultural diversity that the humanity develops. Therefore, there is not enough the definition of Historical Archaeology as the study of the records that possess a small or wide magnitude of associate documentation because, for example, there exist those that in rural context do not have them and, probably, they will never have them. Our suggestion - already distant in the time - not always has application. Checking then the concepts, we examine a site with pre-Hispanic and historical stratification located in the left bank of the river Piedra Blanca, top basin of the Cuarto river, Province of Cordoba, Argentina. The rural way of life can have effects not only the stratigraphic general resolution of the archaeological site but also on the historical and historiographic identification of a region. We present Tres Cascadas as a case in the mountainous environment of Sierra de Comechingones.
