Pozo de los Indios, also known as Kilometer 101, is located in the department of Vera in the province of Santa Fe (Argentine Republic), 11 kilometers west of Garabato, on which it depends administratively and with which it communicates through the Provincial route. 98s. Its origin is linked to the extension of a railway branch of the company The Forestal Land, Timber and Railways, in the mid-1920s, whose purpose was the exploitation of the red quebracho forests located north of the town of Olmos and west of the public network of the Santa Fe Railroad. The objective of this article is to establish the founding date of the town, as well as to reflect on the participation of the community in the management of its memorial heritage. The study includes the analysis of primary historical documents related to the forestry companies that operated in the region and the construction and extension of their private branches linked to the public network. Also included are testimonies from neighbors and a first approximation to the spatial layout of the place along with the identification of properties linked to that past. Finally, the different actions established by the community of Pozo de los Indios from the investigation are mentioned.
